Somehow between potty training (he prolly spent 5 hrs on the potty and only peed once) and changing umpteen diapers, I checked our credit reports. I found out that you can’t check kids reports online, but you can by mail, but you have to have good reason, supposedly. I don’t know if it’s worth my time or if I would even get a report for them and you have to send in ALL their info like copy of their birth certificate. Which if that stuff got ‘lost’ in the mail, I would really have a reason to check. Hrmmmm…have you ever done this? How was your experience?
So back to our credit reports, nothing too big and mostly what I expected except for each of ours had a ‘collection’ of a bill for <$50. Both of these negative things are for items that we have never received or never known about. Both are for local medical places here where we live too. Also both have not previously been on our records, but they happened back pre-2009. I put in disputes as well as now had the phone numbers for the local collection places to give them a call as see what is going on.
I've really been thinking about IRA's and our mortgage and if I shouldn't cut back on the mortgage some to contribute to an IRA. I really value being able to know we are 'okay' with having the house paid off. That no matter what our most expensive debt is paid for and we could feasible get by on just one of our salaries (with exception of figuring out health insurance if on my spouse income vs mine). The health insurance is the kicker, but I digress as that is not an issue at the moment and hopefully things just keep on smooth sailing.
I have someone interested in another one of my craigslist postings and I'm hoping it goes well and that's another ~$30. I really want to continue posting at least one item a week, if not multiple. I have a lot of home decor that we need to sell as with kids it's not child friendly and we need the space.
I've been cloth diapering here and there. I have only a few of some kinds and already did a wash and we are waiting for those to dry. I haven't decided if I want more, want to do them at daycare, or what. I know I should just buy prefolds for daycare as they will do those with no issue as another child is in cloth diapers. I just need to get those and a snappi and tell daycare that's what I want little girl in and do the pockets at home. Our little boy, I thought about the Flips Trainers, but I read pro/con reviews and I don't know if we need those for school. At home we do the cheap old' gerber style as we got a ton at a garage sale for super cheap and super great condition. I don't want to spend money, but I am spending $35-45 a box of diapers a month for these two. I could buy prefolds for <$20 and have enough for 2 days and not have to spend anymore.
From credit reports to cloth diapers…how was your day? 😀
